TruGlide Doors manufacturing facility in Mount Airy, North Carolina

    About TruGlide Doors

A roll-up garage door manufacturer built on hands-on manufacturing expertise, consistent quality, and straightforward service. Based in Mount Airy, North Carolina.

What TruGlide Doors is, in plain terms

TruGlide Doors, LLC is a manufacturer of heavy-duty steel roll-up garage doors — Model 171 and Model 180 — assembled at our facility in Mount Airy, North Carolina. A roll-up door is a single steel curtain, formed from interlocking slats, that coils around a tubular axle above the opening instead of folding into overhead panels like a sectional garage door. We manufacture the door curtain, guide tracks, and hardware; we sell direct to metal building manufacturers, carport companies, shed builders, self-storage developers, garage door dealers, and property owners, and ship by freight within roughly 800 miles of Mount Airy. We do not install doors — installation is handled by the buyer, a contractor, or a local installer.

    Our Story

TruGlide Doors LLC was founded with a clear purpose: to build roll-up garage doors that contractors and builders can depend on. Based in Mount Airy, North Carolina, our manufacturing facility assembles every door that leaves our shop — from the steel curtain slats to the torsion springs and hardware.

We started by serving local metal building manufacturers and carport companies in the Piedmont region of North Carolina. Word spread through the builder community, and our customer base grew across the Southeastern United States. Today we supply roll-up doors to metal building manufacturers, self-storage developers, shed builders, garage door installers, and property owners across a 9-state service area.

Our growth has always been driven by repeat business. When a contractor orders 50 doors and comes back for 200 more, that tells us more than any marketing campaign ever could. We've built TruGlide on the principle that consistent quality and honest service create long-term partnerships.

    Steel Stamped Drums

Precision-stamped steel drums with radial ball bearings provide smooth, reliable coiling operation on every cycle. Designed for high-cycle commercial and residential use.

    Galvanized Axle System

12-gauge galvanized tubular axles resist corrosion and provide structural integrity for the door's torsion spring system. Built to perform in humid Southeast climates.

How a TruGlide Door Is Built

From raw steel to a packaged, ready-to-ship door.

    1. Curtain Forming

Minimum .017 in. (26-gauge) steel is roll-formed into interlocking curtain slats and cut to the ordered width. This curtain is what coils around the axle when the door opens.

    2. Barrel and Spring Assembly

The 12-gauge galvanized tubular axle, steel stamped drums, and radial ball bearings are assembled together with the torsion spring system that counterbalances the curtain.

    3. Hardware Kitting

Guide tracks, brackets, fasteners, and any ordered options — such as an EasyRoller 14 or Hiro opener — are kitted with the door so everything needed for the specific order ships together.

    4. Packaging

The curtain and axle assembly is coiled, banded, and wrapped; tracks are bundled by pair; and hardware ships in a boxed carton. See our shipping and delivery page for how each piece arrives.

    What We Don't Do

Being direct about the scope of our business helps you plan your project correctly. TruGlide manufactures and ships roll-up doors — we do not provide installation labor. Installation is handled by the buyer, a general contractor, or a local garage door installer. Our resources page includes installation documentation to support whoever installs the door.

We also ship within a defined freight radius of roughly 800 miles from Mount Airy — we don't promise nationwide next-day delivery, and we'll tell you plainly if a destination is outside a practical shipping range. See where we ship for the regions we serve most.
